Dr. Rajendra Kumar Isaac is a Professor at the Department of Soil, water, land Engineering and Management, VSAET, Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture Technology and Sciences (SHIATS), Allahabad, U.P. INDIA, since 2006. He is an Agricultural Engineer, earned his Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering (1985) with specialization in Irrigation Engineering and Ph.D. (1994) in Land and water Management. He has also earned his M.Tech Information Technology and M.S. in Remote Sensing and GIS. Professor Isaac has an experience of 25 years in teaching, research, extension and consultancy.

Professor Isaac is well known scientist in the area of soil conservation, water management and Information Technology. He has been awarded as Best scientist by Computer Society of India for his outstanding contribution in the field of Life Sciences and Engineering and Nation Award for Basin Expert for Water Policy planning by River Water User Association(India) RWUA and IE . He was also involved in administrative work in the University as co- ordinator Professional and Technical Education, Associate Director P&TE, Additional Director (IQAA), In-charge University Computer Centre and Officiating Head of Department and Dean, and served various policy level committees including member Academic Council and Member Board of Directors of SHIATS. He is also the President of International River Water User Network.

His research interest includes Watershed Management, Land use and Water resource Optimization, Decision support Systems and Expert Systems. He has 12 Ph.D.( in Soil and Water Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering) and 42 M.Tech. Thesis and more than 100 research papers on his credit. He has published extensively in international referred journals and serving on the editorial board of several national and international journals. He is also the member of various national and International societies. He has organized first National Seminar on Information and Communication Technology and first National Workshop on ICT Application in Library Automation at SHIATS. He authored a book chapter in “Land Degradation and Desertification: Assessment, Mitigation and Remediation”, published by Springer link, Netherland. He has also receive AUSAID grant twice and presented his research paper in International River Conference , Australia. He has delivered Key note addresses in the Plenary session of the National Workshop on Technical Manpower & Curriculum- The Critical Issues, India in 2010, National Conference on Water Demand Sustainability and Future, India 2014 and in the 2nd International River summit, Philippines 2014. and in the Second Vinogradov's Conference "Art of hydrology" held at St. Petersburg, Russia in 2015.
